Anna’s Gate Intl Widows & Friends
The Vision of Anna’s Gate is a world where widows are accepted, loved and important.
Our Mission
The Mission of Anna’s Gate is to gather widows and single women in needed friendship leading to stronger faith and a new purpose through God’s central role and plan for their lives.
Who We Are
Anna’s Gate believes widows and single women should feel accepted, loved and important. They should be supported by friends and family, experiencing God’s love, and continually gaining more independence and purpose.
Anna’s Gate Widows and Friends defines a widow as any woman without a spouse, regardless of age or circumstances. The common bond for widows is in the shared experience of fighting isolation and loneliness; torment of shame, guilt, failure, and rejection; and for some, a lack of necessities and inability to handle life’s problems. Women who have lost their loved ones through death, divorce, or other circumstances may feel abandoned and left alone in their grief. One widow said, “After the death of my husband, I find myself wanting to go home, even when I am home.” Anna’s Gate is here to help. You do not have to do this alone.
As a 501c3 faith-based nonprofit headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, we commit to be there for you. If you are connected to the AG network in person, by phone, or by internet, someone is here to talk who has walked in your shoes.
Women of faith want to walk alongside you to help stop prolonged grief and help encourage you for your new life. God has a purpose for you and a plan to get you where you are supposed to be. That is the reason you are here!
- Isaiah 54:4-5 Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. For your Maker is your husband—the LORD Almighty is His name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.
- Exodus 22:22-23, You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to Me, I will surely hear their cry.
- Proverbs 15:25 The LORD will establish the border of the widow.
- Psalm 146:9 The Lord…upholds the widow and the fatherless.
